A stroll down Morgan Lane

The very beautiful Lois De Fee (the collection that got me hot under the collar!) Last Friday was surprisingly mild in London which put me in a great frame of mind to meet the woman behind Morgan Lane, a new New York based lingerie brand making waves across the pond, Morgan Stuart.  With daughter in tow (on mid-term break and a bona-fide lingerie addict by default) Beautifully Undressed met with the lovely Morgan Stuart at the suitably boho-chic, The Townhouse in Soho. Since discovering her collection last Autumn, I've been somewhat obsessed with the brand and first collection launched for Resort 2014 and was delighted when the opportunity came when I could meet Morgan and see her collection first hand...and i was suitably blown away!

The daughter of renowned designer Jill Stuart, it was somewhat inevitable that Morgan would follow her path into fashion, and after graduating at Central Saint Martins, Morgan started designing for the Jill Stuart brand which she's been doing since 2009.  However, an accomplished artist and illustrator in her own right with a penchant for antique lingerie, she'd worked on a series of oil paintings that referenced 1930's Kewpie dolls, inspiring Morgan to combine her two biggest passions; illustration and lingerie and incorporating them into her brand,  as a muse and mascot named Lanie, and so Morgan Lane was born.

Sexy, cute, classical with a sprinkling of cheeky fairy dust come to mind when describing both her Spring/Summer 14 & Autumn/Winter 14 collections of luxe lingerie, all laid beautifully before us.  It was a lingerie loving feast for the eyes - 'Lipstick/ Vanilla tulip appliqués on silk briefs & decadent bras, sensual soft mesh, and more delicate cheeky rompers with cut out sides, and of course mischievous Lanie herself adorned on bloomers, briefs and eye masks.

AW14, is a flourish of gold & metallic, reminiscent of the 1970's disco hays;  a nod to champions of boxing with fabulous black and gold silk hooded Pyjamas,  delicate gold stars floating on diamond twill,  strong graphics in the form of Lotus and heart appliqués on high-waisted briefs and custom-made stretch lace with Silk Charmeuse,  and more of Laine " a mischievous vixen" but this time she has a boyfriend ( one can only imagine what they'll be up to in future collections)!  And all wrapped up in her unique Morgan Lane packaging....GORGEOUS... and I wanted it All!

I swooned & quietly gushed at everything (daughter doing the same) and by the end of the meeting, was a salivating wreck at the thought of offering this fabulous brand to Beautifully Undressed customers worldwide, and of course coveting a nice tidy selection for myself! (One of the wonderful perks about being in a lingerie retailer, which means a tremendous amount if you've got somewhat of an addiction to lingerie - but that's for another blog!)

Touted as one to watch by the likes of Vogue, Elle, Cosmo and the New York Post,  this is most definitely a brand you'll be wanting to spend your pennies, £'s, $'s Cedis or Naira's on over and over again.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for Morgan Lane (aka Morgan Stuart who was just lovely and I think with sparks of her muse about her :)) no doubt an extremely successful one and fingers crossed, it will include adding Beautifully Undressed to their list of new stockists :) We will of course keep you posted!
