Lingerie Galore! Part 1
Posted on 17 February 2013
Last week was a packed week with Trade shows and fashion brand events to attend and whilst it was busy, it was fantastic fun. It hit me that I really loved my new lingerie obsessed direction in life and the desire to explore and learn more about this wonderful industry grew significantly, as I went from one event to another. My Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion free fall started with Pure London where the latest trends were highlighted at Olympia. Pure London takes place, twice yearly in February and August and is seen as being the UK’s 'favourite fashion buying destination, bringing together mid-to-high end womenswear, young fashion, footwear, accessories, childrenswear', and more recently, lingerie and swimwear under the category Pure Body, all under one roof. There was so much to take in with some great brands but some really stuck out for me. I loved the new independent label 'Undone', which debuted at Pure. The brain child of Eva Philips this London based brand is proudly British. 'With the belief that a fashion-forward aesthetic shouldn't be compromised for incredible fit', it caters to small backed women from size DD-GG. I loved everything in this terrific capsule collection and struggled to pick a favourite. Mai is the perfect Bridal collection (in my opinion), but stunning 'Lola' will definitely be coming to Beautifully Undressed as soon as it drops!
I have to say that I can't get enough ofthe LA based lingerie brand Claudette and just adore their forthcoming A/W collection, with their signature fabulous neons, this time with a dash of 'bondage' inspiration. The designer behind the brand, Bok was so lovely and as you can appreciate I couldn't hold back and went on a little shopping spree :) Below is a little sneak peak of what's to come this A/W from this fantastic lingerie brand, and we'll be adding some Spring Summer zing to our Claudette selection in April - can't wait!
Paris based Australian designer MadEmoiselle Sugar is the lady behind sleepmasks brand, Love Me Sugar, which she launched in 2010. MadEmoiselle's designs are inspired by her love of vintage lingerie and film noir and all her pieces are lovingly handmade. On offer, as well as her sumptuous sleepmasks, were an array of beautiful lingerie satchels and lingerie accessories using the highest quality silks, silk tulles, laces satins. My eyes were drawn to the Kitty Eyemask selection. A boudoir must, this sleepmask, with a cheeky wink, shouts 'let's play!' And play we shall, when they land at Beautifully Undressed HQ.
Finally I swooned when I found the label Sonata Lingerie which 'fuses beautiful and technically unique design forms with hyper luxurious silk chiffons, satins, linens and laces, creating garments that contour and deify the female form'. Stocked at some of the most high end stores across Europe and America, Sonata says “I just want to make women feel pretty, confident and sexy…. and when you wear amazing lingerie – you feel amazing. Basically, if I’ve achieved you feeling fabulous, then I’m happy with that!” Sonata Rapalyte was there herself to run me through her wonderfully feminine designs and I was particularly taken by her Electra Ribbon Body suit, the perfect example of when lingerie looks stunning worn as outerwear, beautifully modeled by Sonata herself.
This high end brand is 'designed with fabulous women in mind' and her lovely creations are a must have addition to any delicious knicker drawer - we're looking forward to stocking Sonata at Beautifully Undressed. Pure was great and I got home bushed but exhilarated. Day 1 of my lingerie fest down, 2 more to go! :) More to come from my week of lingerie event hopping soon.
Love, Luxe, Lingerie Hugs xx
