Lingerie Style Guide

Bras

Push-Up

Push-up bras are designed to show off cleavage and always offer lots of support. These bras lift the breasts and add shape to them with extra padding.

Balcony

These are very flattering & are great for giving maximum uplift and a fuller shape to lower/dropped busts. They feature low-cut cups and wide set straps that give the appearance of a square neckline. The cups are designed to push your bust upwards, can be either padded or unpadded and can also have push-up pads as well.

Bandeau

A band of material that wraps around your breasts. Most of them do not have hook and eye fasteners at the back so are put on by pulling them over your head. They are a bit like boob tubes but in more of a bra style. Most bandeaus are minimally supportive.

Full Cup

This cup style supports the bust, giving full coverage and maximum support. Made in all sizes, they are especially good for fuller figures or larger cup sizes. Perfect under t-shirts, they are available padded or unpadded and is flattering on any figure.

Demi Cup

Also known as a half bra, this offers less coverage for an extremely seductive cleavage. It is most suites for small to medium cup sizes.

Quarter Cup

Not for everyday, this bra is a definite must-have for seduction. Quarter cup bras are similar to a half-cup bra, but cups are half the size offering even less coverage. Reduced space between the cups to help push upwards and inwards, creating a fabulous cleavage.

Cupless

This is usually worn as erotic lingerie as there is no cup support, the nipples are exposed. This is also known as an open up bra. This bra is all about seduction rather than everyday practicality.

Plunge

Designed to reveal more of the bust for a sexier look. With a plunge front, angled cups and a thin centre gore, these bras create the appearance of increased cleavage. Plunge bras differ from push-up bras in that they are not heavily padded. Triangle - Made for petite figures, these bras have thin straps, triangular shape and typically soft cups; they are therefore not underwired. DD+ - Offer more support for larger cup sizes and we have various styles available

Halter Neck

Halter Neck bras feature straps that fasten behind the neck. Many halter style bras are convertible to strapless, regular and criss-cross.

Strapless/Multi-way

With removable or adjustable straps, these bras can be adapted to suit any form of party wear from halter neck to spaghetti strap. Generally has rubberised or silicone beading inside to hold it in place on your body.

Non-wired

Have no underwire designed for increased comfort. The lack of underwire doesn't equal a lack of support in fact, there are many unique construction soft cup bras that offer comparable support to underwire bras. Some women with larger back sizes may prefer this style of bras because they may have difficulty finding an underwire that fits comfortably. Often worn by pregnant women it offers added support due to the wide sides and an under bust band and more breast coverage.

Underwired

A sewn-in moulded wiring that runs beneath the breast in the bra cups, to help lift and separate the bust line for enhanced shape and support. Under-wiring is generally made from metal or plastic.

Contour

This bra focuses on comfort, giving light to moderate support. These bras feature fibre-fill or foam lining in the cups, which provide definition and shape. Contour or Preformed bras are a great choice for women seeking a sculpted silhouette. Women with a larger back size may also find this style preferable if they struggle to find an under-wired style that fits comfortably.

Knickers

Classic

This style rests at the waist and has full bottom coverage with a low leg line.

Full

The full knicker is similar to the classic in that it also rests at the waist and has full bottom coverage with a low leg line. It offers more coverage to the front and back than the G-String and Thong.

Brazilian

This is a popular style and covers more in the back than a thong but less than a full knicker. A Brazilian brief has a full crotch, but the back can vary depending on the designer. It is similar to the Bikini style

French

French knickers are very glamorous and compliment all types of figures – this is the ultimate in feminine style. A loose fitting elegant short, it looks like a Shorty knicker except the back does not have elastic in the legs so does not cup your bottom cheeks.

G-String & Thong

Both styles feature a minimal back, with only a thin piece of fabric that slides between the cheeks to leave the buttocks exposed. A thong has slightly more fabric at the back than a G-string & the G eliminates the potential for VPL or visible panty line.

Shorty

A feminine version of a men's classic underwear shape that is generally low rise with wide, almost square-cut sides. They are a perfect everyday alternative and offer comfortable coverage under skirts. They generally prevent visible panty lines and are the perfect loungewear item, teamed with a camisole.
